August 2005
An informal meeting to create a Guinea Hog association was held over dinner between Kevin Fall, Micki Taylor, Paul Krumm, and Don Oberdorfer, with Dr. Don Bixby of ALBC advising.  Callene Rapp was present at the artificial insemination seminar the above people attended, but was not able to attend the founding dinner.

March, 2006
An ad was placed in the ALBC 2006 Breeders Directory for this association-in-progress, listing the URL created for this association: www.guineahogassociation.homestead.com and Guinea Hog breeders were offered the option to be listed on the breeder page of this site.

March 2, 2006
A forum was created at yahoogroups to allow breeders and interested parties to communicate.  Another forum was created March 3, 2006 for a "Start Up" committee, to get the organization in motion.

April 21, 2006
American Guinea Hog Association was registered as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Minnesota.  The corresponding URL; www.americanguineahogassociation.org was registered for this association on the same date, with the above website address pointing to this new and official web address.

May 2, 2006
Bylaws for a democratic association have been presented to the "Start Up" committee for voting.

May 3, 2006
Form created in which Guinea Hog breeders may submit their information for listing on the Breeders page of this website.  See Home page or Breeders page for this link.

June 5, 2006
Ballots were e-mailed to the Start Up Committee for voting on current bylaws.  Ballots must be snail mailed and postmarked no later than Saturday, June 10, 2006.

June 14, 2006
Election results were announced, with voters unanimously approving the Bylaws, Articles of Incorporation, and Board of Directors.  The first AGHA Newsletter was also published online, and Membership forms and Registrations forms were made available.

January 2007

The AGHA database has been implemented and all submitted Registration Certificates were issued.

February 2007
Don Oberdorfer stepped down, members elected a new President, and the BOD appointed a new Registrar.  A larger ad was placed in the 2007 ALBC Breeders Directory, and plans were made to update and expand the AGHA website, which were implemented in March 2007.
